In a city where there are so many places to get married, it can be overwhelming for any bride who simply wants to relax and enjoy the planning process. Locating a ceremony AND reception site can be stressful and time-consuming, so we set out to find you the most charming wedding chapels in the LA-area for an intimate wedding ceremony just before the big party!
Wayfarers Chapel - also known as the glass church - is located in Rancho Palos Verdes. This glass church can be found high on a cliff, overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and the breathtaking location is surrounded by tall pine trees with both mountain and ocean views. Because of the open ceilings, the scenery creates a feeling like you're getting married in a treehouse - which is a fun spin on a wedding chapel! Whether your ceremony is during the day or in the evening, the location offers beautiful settings for both. Day ceremonies offer gorgeous views, while evening ceremonies have the option of having a romantic, candlelit ceremony.
Albertson Wedding Chapel
Looking to get married quickly - without all of the planning? Albertson Wedding Chapel is a unique space that has catered to Los Angeles wedding ceremonies for the last 40 years. The chapel is a small, modern space for intimate groups of no more than 32 people. The concept is to create a beautiful space for individuals looking to elope (or simply have an intimate ceremony) without having to go to Las Vegas. The chapel is well-decorated with wooden floors, chandeliers, and flowers walls - everything you need for a simple-yet-elegant ceremony.
First United Methodist Church of North Hollywood
This New-England-style church can be found in the middle of the bustling Hollywood city center, but don't let that fool you. This beautiful brick chapel is known for its stunning aesthetics - high ceilings, stone structures, gorgeous stainless windows, and wooden pews. This wedding location is a beautiful sanctuary with a plethora of history - being one of LA's most-filmed churches. The main sanctuary of the building can hold up to 400 guests, but it can also accommodate smaller groups in its other chapel.
Tucked away in the Pacific Palisades on the grounds of Aldersgate Retreat Center, this charming wedding chapel is open to weddings of any faith as well as civil ceremonies. Buerge Chapel, built in 1892, is rich in character and intimacy - and even has a wall that opens to the outside grounds (so guests can sit both inside and out). The perfect location for your guests to enjoy beautiful LA weather during your nuptials!
Located on the campus of Malibu's Pepperdine University is Stauffer Chapel. This beautiful chapel sits on a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Inside, the ceremony room radiates as the chapel windows get hit with California's natural light. With vaulted ceilings decorated with custom woodwork and molding and floor-to-ceiling stained glass windows that light up with the sun, it's a one of a kind location to tie the knot.
